Blog: February 2010 Litter
Prairie visited for the week end to get reacquainted with me and the house and other dogs so that when she comes from her guardian home to have her pups it won't seem strange to her. This is more than a year in the future and she will come several times more before she has her first litter. She also had radiographs taken of her hips and her eyes checked to begin her health testing to see if she qualifies for the PGD breeding program. We are keeping our fingers crossed as she is a super nice...
Rosy's wonderful puppies started going home today...a bitter-sweet day. Wonderful new owners and saying good bye to my constant companions for 9 weeks. The pups took to their new owners right away with excitement and kisses. They walked into their new crates and were gone, with promises to keep in touch. One, (McGregor) Furley, will be living in Fort Collins, and (Benjamin) Rocky will live in Westminster, only an hour away. Wendy, my future mom will be in the mountains in her wonderful...
Rosy and the puppies went out into the new puppy yard a few days ago and everything went well. This morning I left Rosy out in the dog yard where the pups in the puppy yard could not reach her. When I went to check, I only saw 3 puppies!! Panic set in, I looked everywhere, no sign of the 2 pups. I looked up and there was a pup out with Rosy. She had passed through the space between the chain link gate and the fence. I went out and called and Lewis appeared at my feet. It is amazing how small...
