Goldendoodle Breed

The first word that comes to mind when thinking of golden doodles is gentle, followed by intelligent, cute, people oriented (especially kids), trainable, low to non shedding and allergy friendly.

Golden doodles are family friendly. They fit well into most family activities, and don't mind being "dressed up" by small children. They love road trips where they can have their whole family together for an extended period of time. They have swum up to in pool bars in Arizona, been backpaking, canoe touring and jogging (after 1 year of age).

They recognize vulnerable adults and children and are extra gentle. They make good service dogs. The minis help especially with children as hearing dogs and companions to help children with balance. PGD has donated a puppy for service dog training.

Most people who apply for a Placer puppy are choosing a goldendoodle because they are interested in doing therapy work with their dog. Nelson, a 6 month old Placer puppy is already visiting hospice and nursing homes.

Temperament and health are of the utmost importance at PGD. Extensive testing of the parent dogs and the inherent hybrid vigor of golden and poodle cross have resulted in healthy dogs that score mid energy level and mid range in their temperament testing.
